We look at your sensory, physiological, cognitive needs, the environment in which you live, work and study and the tasks (occupations) that you need and want to do. We see what we can do to match the Person Environment and the Occupation to maximise your Performance. (This is based on the PEOP Model Person-Environment-Occupation Performance framework, first developed by Carolyn Baum and Charles Christiansen).

Areas that we can help with include:

• Helping people with behaviours of concern
• Emotional regulation – understanding your body and how to respond to its signals
• Assisting with school retention and inclusion
• Completing activities of daily living such as shopping, cooking, cleaning, eating & adequate hydration.
• Completing personal care activities such as showering, toileting, hair brushing & teeth cleaning.

We believe the age old saying “it takes a village to raise a child“.

In the case of Occupational Therapy this saying applies regardless of age. It takes teamwork between participants, families, their extended supports and care team to produce the best outcomes.

With your permission we work closely with your primary care team and other allied health practitioners such as:

• Support Coordinators
• Positive Behaviour Support Practitioners.
• Speech Pathologists.
• Dieticians.
• Continence Nurses.
• Psychologists.
